Get ready to ditch your diet this weekend at a festival dedicated entirely to making the world's best gelato! Gelato Fest America is making its final stop in Tucson at La Encantada this Saturday and Sunday from noon to 7p.m.

The festival will showcase award-winning gelato artisans and a children's gelato tasting where kids can ask chefs questions and vote for their favorite flavor. There will also be a "Gelato School" open to all ages and a Gelato Eating Contest. In the contest, whoever downs five cups of gelato the fastest will be awarded one sweet gallon of gelato.

Tickets for $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and veterans, $15 for children 12 and under and free admission for anyone younger than 2 years old. However, you can get $5 off if you purchase your tickets before October 27. Presale tickets can be found online at gelatofestivalamerica.com/ticket and on Eventbrite.

The ticket is an all-access pass to all of the activities and reserved events of Gelato Festival America 2018.

Before you leave the event, however, Gelato Festival America asks that you vote on your favorite flavor. Gelato chefs from all corners of the world are competing until the 2021 grand finals in Italy. In the end, only 36 chefs out of 5,000 competitors will earn the title "Gelato Festival World Master."
