TUCSON, Ariz. - Tucson Fire Department responded to a cooking fire near the eastside.
TFD arrived to the scene at 3700 block South Domenic Place around 11:51 a.m.
TFD says, cooking oil ignited while heating up and the kitchen caught fire.
Before arrival TFD advised the family to evacuate the home.
TFD confirmed smoke and flames coming from the window of the home.
Crews were performed extra techniques and were able to control the fire within seven minutes.
Multiple units were called to scene.
TFD says, cooking is a main contributor to nearly half of all house fires.
Officials do not recommend unattended cooking and to always have a fire extinguisher or lid ready in case of emergency.
