Tucson Fire honors fallen firefighters and their families

The Tucson Fire Department has been serving the community for over 100 years.

During that time, there have been six firefighters who have passed away while on the line of duty.

An annual ceremony held at TFD Headquarters honored the six men and their families, along with others who have died after retiring and off-duty.

At least 100 people attended the event in order to remember the lives of those who are no longer alive and how others currently in the fire department can learn from their deaths.

Janet Quesnel's husband was the sixth died in the line of duty. Now she hopes people will learn from what happened to him and find ways to stay safe while on the front lines.
