From downed power lines, to a lightning-sparked house fire to multiple swift water rescues - it was a busy night for the Tucson Fire Department all across the city.
In all, TFD were dispatched to seven different swift water rescues. But, the most severe one included a family of four. Their SUV was swept away near Stone and Drachman late Sunday night.
Captain Barrett Baker said, roadways can change from safe to dangerous in an instant and that people should bhe more understanding when tragedy strikes others.
"It's very easy to play pundit and to poke fun at somebody and call them a stupid motorist," Capt. Baker said. "But, in most cases, it's not someone that is trying to say, 'I'll show you Mother Nature,' It's just the fact that we don't realize that this much water can lead to that."
The family is safe and they sent us photos of them smiling with the crews who helped save them.
