TUCSON, Ariz. — Tucson Electric Power says they will temporarily stop disconnecting power to customers because of late payments.

This comes as the Arizona Corporation Commission examines disconnection practices for utility companies state wide.

Last year a person died after their power was cut off in Phoenix.

TEP says this is not a debt forgiveness program, but they will work with the community and those who are having a hard time making their payments.

Anyone who is experiencing troubles paying their bills are are asked to contact their customer care team.
