TUCSON, Ariz. - A new analysis of U.S. Census data finds Tucson commuters get to work faster than any other city in Arizona, except one.
Tempe topped the list, compiled by data analytic site HomeArea.com, with an average commute of 20.9 minutes. Tucson's average commute came in at 21.7 minutes. The study uses the latest estimates from the American Community Survey, and only analyzes cities with a population of 60,000 or more.
The average commute statewide is 25.3 minutes in Arizona and rose 0.7 percent in the past year, HomeArea.com says.
Scottsdale came in at No. 3 below Tucson, followed by Chandler, Mesa, Phoenix, Gilbert, Peoria and Glendale.
