TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - On Thursday, 180 dealers and vendors will open their booths for business at the 22nd Street Mineral and Fossil Show near I-10 and 22nd Street.

The event runs from January 28 through February 14 every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Last year, nearly 30,000 people made their way to the show, which help make it the most attended mineral, fossil, gem and jewelry show in the entire country.

KGUN9 got a sneak-peek at one of the larger-than-life exhibits: Triebold Paleontology. The company has been apart of the big event for nearly 30 years where they have brought massive and intrigue displays to the public.

Owner Mike Triebold told KGUN9, some of the best reactions to the displays comes from the children, who are enamored by the work.

Triebold's company does all their own locating and excavation of these original and cast fossils. He says they own different licenses that allow them to go on over 30 ranches in the country.

"We explore on private land and we collect the specimens and we prepare them," Triebold explained. "If they are very unique and special, we mold them and sell copies... We provide museums with finished original fossils and casts."

The event and parking is free to the public.
