TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - An Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman says a woman who had been in a wrong-way vehicle involved in a collision on a Tempe freeway was seriously injured after she got out after the wreck and then was struck by a third vehicle on a nearby freeway ramp.

Trooper Kameron Lee says preliminary information indicates that the wrong-way vehicle collided with a pickup early Saturday morning in westbound lanes of the Loop 202 in Tempe and that the pickup driver's injuries weren't life-threatening.

Lee described the woman who had been in the wrong-way vehicle as an "occupant" and it's not clear whether she was driving that vehicle before the collision with the pickup.

No identities were released.
