UPDATE: Tucson Police Department has identified the victim in Thursday's homicide as 43-year-old Jason Peebles.
Detectives determined that Peebles was living in an apartment with a family member. He was served with a court order the day before and was no longer allowed to be at the apartment.
According to TPD, other family members went to the residence last night to check on the apartment. They discovered the locks were changed and no one answered the door.
One of the family members, an adult male, attempted to enter through the back entrance of the home and was confronted by Peebles who began to physically assault him. Other family members intervened and as the confrontation continued, one family member grabbed a knife and stabbed Peebles.
Detectives are continuing to investigate.
