TUCSON, Ariz. — A deadly crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV shut down 6th Street Wednesday morning.

Tucson Police closed 6th Street is closed between Tucson Blvd and Campbell Ave at around 10:00 a.m. Police say the crash happened at Plumer Avenue.

Tucson Fire Medics rushed the motorcyclist -- identified as 33-year-old Kyle Gabbard -- to the hospital, where he died, TPD said.

Police say the driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee stopped at a stop sign at the intersection on Plumer Ave, then crossed into the intersection where the SUV collided with the motorcycle.

The driver of the Jeep stayed on scene and cooperated with investigators. Police say a DUI investigator determined the driver was not impaired at the time of the crash.

TPD says speed appears to be a factor in the crash.
