UPDATE (10:10 a.m., Oct. 7):
Tucson Police Department has identified the motorcyclist killed as 33-year-old Thomas E. Vargas.
According to a news release from TPD, Vargas was riding westbound on East Golf Links Road when he collided with a Prius traveling eastbound on Golf Links that was attempting to turn left onto South Cathy Avenue.
Vargas was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. TPD determined the 40-year-old male driver of the Prius was not impaired. Vargas allegedly had drugs on him, but impairment will be determined through medical records.
No charges or citations have been issued. The investigation is ongoing.

Tucson Police are responding to a deadly motorcycle crash on Golf Links Road.
The crash caused officers to close off a section of the road in between Harrison and Pantano Parkway.
