Alvernon Way from Speedway to Fairmount is closed in both directions for an unknown length of a time because of a traffic accident, according to Tucson Police.
Sgt. Kimberly Bay of Tucson Police says they first received a call on a two-vehicle collision at Bellevue and Alvernon at 3:45 p.m.
Tucson Police say one of the drivers is a suspect in a robbery.
The robbery happened at a Circle K five minutes before the accident.
TPD says the suspect fled and then ran a stop sign as another car slammed into the suspect's vehicle.
Both cars subsequently crashed into an apartment complex.
The suspect is in the hospital with serious injuries, charges are pending at this time.
The other driver was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
