The Tucson Police Department announced it acceptance of a $60,000 Work Zone Safety Grant from the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety Friday.
According to TPD, the grant will be utilized to enforce violations such as speeding, distracted driving, alcohol/drug impairment and other violations that occur around construction/work zones in the city.
The goal for police is to reduce collisions and provide a safe working environment on or near roadways.
The Tucson Police Department is grateful to the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for its continued support in helping to make our roadways a safer place in Tucson.
