Tucson Police are offering additional training for people who want to learn how to respond in an active shooter or violent encounter situation.

The next class will be held on Wednesday, August 31 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Rincon Police Substation at 9670 E. Golf Links Road. As of July 21, this class is now FULL.

Another class will be on Wednesday, September 14 from  6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Westside Service Center Auditorium at 1310 W. Miracle Mile.

And one more class will be on Tuesday, September 20 from  6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Westside Service Center Auditorium at 1310 W. Miracle Mile.

Class size is limited so all interested participants are asked to email TOEMHS@tucsonaz.gov.

Participants should include their first and last name and a phone number.

TPD will hold additional presentations if necessary.

Please note that the class is not intended for younger audiences so those under the age of 16 should not attend. TPD says that parents can use the information they take away from the class to educate their children in a way they feel is appropriate.
