Members of the Tucson Police Department's SWAT team met Thomas Yoxall, the Good Samaritan who came to the aid of a DPS trooper during an ambush attack earlier this month.
Trooper Ed Andersson was responding to a rollover crash and a report of shots fired on I-10 near Tonopah on January 12.
A man then ambushed Trooper Andersson and shot him.
Yoxall, a passerby, stopped to render aid and grabbed a gun from his car and shot and killed the man after he did not follow his commands to stop attacking the trooper.
Members of TPD's SWAT team met with Yoxall on Friday and presented him with the American flag for saving the life of Trooper Andersson.
