Tucson Police are investigating a homicide that occurred Sunday morning on Tucson's south side in the 5300 block of South Park Avenue.
According to Sgt. Pete Dugan with TPD, officers arrived at 2:47 a.m. and located an adult male on the ground with obvious signs of gunshot trauma.
The man was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after.
He has been identified as 42-year-old Tereso Hernandez-Reyes.
Detectives with the Tucson Police Gang Unit learned that Hernandez-Reyes had just left a nightclub in downtown Tucson with some acquaintances. As they pulled into a mobile home park, at least two other vehicles followed them into the lot.
TPD says a suspect approached and began firing into the vehicle. Hernandez-Reyes ran from the vehicle, but he was chased down and shot multiple times.
The suspect's vehicles fled the scene. The other people in the vehicle with Hernandez-Reyes were not injured.
The investigation revealed that the shooting was not gang-related.
