Tucson police are investigating a homicide on the south side after a man's body was set on fire, according to Sgt. Pete Dugan, a spokesman for the department.
The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Omar M. Fox.
Dugan says detectives are investigating in the 3000 block of East Coconino Vista. The first call on the incident came in just before 8 a.m.

Police received a 9-1-1 call from a resident who lives in the area and advised that he was driving past an alley near his home and had noticed a small fire.
As the caller got closer to the fire, he was able to determine that a body was on fire in the alley.
Officers responded to the scene within minutes. The first officer on scene put out the fire using his fire extinguisher.
After the fire was extinguished, officers confirmed it was a body and Fox was pronounced dead on scene.
Detectives are still working to determine what exactly happened.
At this time the cause of death is unknown and will not be determined until a medical examination is completed, Dugan said.
