Tucson police have identified a woman killed in a homicide overnight as 26-year-old Christine Betancourt.

Police have identified a man connected to the homicide as 26-year-old Manuel Encinas, they say he was the man fatally shot by deputies from the Pima County Sheriff's Department Sunday morning at a Circle K

Just before 1 a.m. Sunday TPD received a call about a possible homicide at a home in the 3800 block of South Palm Side Drive.

A caller told police that his cousin's boyfriend, Encinas, called him and said he was going to kill the caller's cousin and then kill himself.

Officers arrived and located Betancourt inside with obvious signs of blunt force trauma.

Detectives responded and learned that Encinas lived at the residence with Betancourt.

He was not home when officers arrived and Betancourt's car was missing. Tucson police then placed an "Attempt to Locate" on Encinas and the car.

PCSD then responded for an incident at a Circle K on South Nogales Highway and advised TPD they were involved in a shooting and Encinas was killed during the incident.

Betancourt's vehicle was located at the Circle K.

Anyone with information on this homicide is asked to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
