Tucson Police Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that happened Saturday evening near midtown.
TPD says officers were driving in the area of East Grant Road and North Columbus Boulevard when they found an adult male pedestrian lying in the roadway around 10:30 p.m.
TPD says a pickup truck was pulled to the side near the man in the roadway.
Officers learned a crash happened between the truck and the man.
Officers aided in CPR and Tucson Fire was called to the scene to treat the man.
The man was taken to Banner University Medical Center, where he died.
Detectives determined a1999 Ford Pickup Truck was driving eastbound on Grant Road in the median lane. Upon approaching Columbus Boulevard the pedestrian crossed in front of the truck and was hit.
The pedestrian was traveling north to south and was not in a crosswalk.
The driver showed no signs of impairment and speed does not appear to be a factor.
Police say the driver cooperated with the investigation.
No arrests or citations have been issued at this time.
The investigation is still ongoing.
