Tucson Police have provided additional details regarding a motorcycle collision on December 2, 2017.

According to TPD, officers responded to reports of a serious injury collision involving two motorcycles in the area of North Arcadia Avenue and East 4th Street. One rider fled the scene on foot and the other rider was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later died on December 9 due to the injuries sustained in the collision. TPD has identified him as 35-year-old Jeremy Teeter.

Detectives were able to determine that a 2013 red/white Honda motorcycle and a 2005 black Suzuki motorcycle were traveling southbound on Arcadia at a high rate of speed. The Suzuki motorcycle struck the Honda from behind and both riders were thrown from their motorcycles.

The rider of the Suzuki fled the scene on foot and officers discovered that he was riding a stolen motorcycle. TPD located him the same day and arrested him. He has been identified as 33-year-old Zachary Roller.

TPD says that speed was a factor in the collision and there were no signs of impairment. Both riders were wearing helmets.
