Toddler pulled from canal in west Phoenix

PHOENIX (AP) - A toddler is in the hospital after Phoenix firefighters pulled the child from a canal.
    
Phoenix fire officials say they received a call before 10:30 a.m. Sunday that a child fell into the canal near 43rd Avenue and Crittenden Lane.
    
Firefighters rescued the child and performed CPR.
    
The baby, who is between 15 and 18 months old, was then taken to the hospital but the toddler's condition is unknown at this time.
