A two-year-old boy is in critical condition after being pulled from the family pool.

Capt. Brian Keeley with Northwest Fire District tells KGUN 9 that crews responded to a home in the 4300 block of W. Rae Circle at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

When crews arrived on scene, they found the boy in cardiac arrest. His parents were performing CPR.

The child was immediately rushed to the hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

The parents say they saw the child less than five minutes before he was found floating in the family pool.

The pool did not have any barriers, said Keeley.

Deputies with the Pima County Sheriff's Department are trying to figure out if the child used the doggy door to get outside.
