The Carr Fire continues to burn through Northern California, fueled by high winds and dry conditions.
More than 89,000 acres have been burned and only five percent of the fire has been contained.
Public information officer with the American Red Cross Southern Arizona Chapter, Michael Sagara, says volunteers are always prepared to assist during emergencies.
Sagara says by Monday, four volunteers will be heading to Shasta County for at least 2 weeks, their main duty will be to help with sheltering.
"And we also have emotional support as well as medical support if they need to have that and we're also able to take care of people that have disabilities. We accommodate all people including people that were homeless to begin with, they can come into our shelter."
