A single TFD unit responded to reports of a fire alarm sounding off at a rehabilitation hospital in the 2000 block of North Park Avenue Monday night.

Additional units arrived to ensure that patients and staff would be evacuated if need be.

One wing was evacuated while firefighters searched for the locations of the fire. Thermal imaging camera helped crews discover heat coming from part of a wall.

Firefighters were able to expose the area and extinguish the hot spots.

It took 14 units and 38 firefighters an hour to locate the fire and put out the flames.

There were no injuries reported to any crew members, staff members or patients.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
