The Tucson Fire Department is responding to a basement fire at Banner UMC, according to Capt. Barrett Baker of TFD.
Baker says they first received a call on the fire around 3:30 p.m.
The fire was in the basement of the hospital and involved electrical equipment.
Crews are working to rid the hospital of smoke that was produced from the fire.
There is no word on evacuations at this time.
Banner UMC Tucson experienced a power outage just after 1 p.m., according to Elyse Palm, a spokeswoman for Banner Health.
Palm says the hospital is moving patients out of the main tower of the hospital to Banner Children's at Diamond Children's Medical Center, which has full power.
Tucson Fire was able to determine that an overloaded circuit breaker may have caused the outage.
TFD is working with Banner Health on a resolution.
