School district officials have confirmed that 18-year-old Mahin Khan attended Catalina Foothills High School in 2013.

"Mahin Khan attended Catalina Foothills High School for just a few days in August 2013. There were behavior issues, and his parent withdrew him to avoid disciplinary action. We do not know where he went to school since that time," Catalina Foothills School District spokeswoman Julie Farbarik said in a statement.

Khan was arrested Friday in Tucson after a joint investigation between the Arizona Attorney General's Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Khan faces charges of conspiracy to commit terrorism and terrorism.

Authorities say Khan planned to commit terrorism against government buildings in Pima and Maricopa counties.

Mia Garcia, spokeswoman for the Arizona Attorney General's Office, told our sister station ABC15 that the planned attacks did not involve the Fourth of July or related festivities.

No outstanding suspects are being sought in this case and authorities say there was no threat to public safety.

Khan is currently in custody of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
