TEMPE, Ariz. — Tempe Police say have arrested a man accused of fatally stabbing a woman in her third trimester of pregnancy Sunday morning.
Police say they responded to an apartment complex near 8th Street and McClintock at 1:30 a.m. regarding reports of a woman screaming in the parking lot.
When police arrived, they found the 39-year-old woman suffering from stab wounds.
Officers were able to get a description of the suspect's car and locate the vehicle driving along Interstate 10 near Quartzsite, Arizona.
The suspect was taken into police custody around 11:45 a.m.
The woman was transported to Scottsdale Osborn hospital where both she and the baby died.
The suspect and victim are not being identified at this time.
