The Cochise County Sheriff's Office has received multiple calls regarding telephone scams, according to a news release from CCSO.
Deputies say that the callers are using an automated recording saying that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has a warrant for their arrest unless payment is received by calling a certain number.
There have been also calls about being awarded a loan from a family member and using a family member's name.
CCSO says to not fall victim to these criminals by not answering your phone if you do not recognize the number. The public is also advised to hang up the phone if you do get one of these calls and to remember that the IRS will not call you.
