SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (AP) - A teenager in Sierra Vista has been arrested for allegedly setting fire to his caregivers' home while they were asleep and may be charged as an adult.
Sierra Vista police said Monday the 15-year-old boy is being held on suspicion of five felonies - two counts of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of attempted manslaughter and one count of arson.
His name isn't being released because of his age.
Police say they received a 911 call around 7:30 a.m. Sunday about a possible arson.
The homeowners say they were awoken by a smoke detector alarm and quickly extinguished two fires set inside the boy's bedroom and a third in the laundry room.
Police located the teen near the house. The homeowners were in the process of becoming his foster parents.
