Pima County Sheriff's Department deputies arrested 19-year-old Kyle Davis for having explicit pictures of children on Tuesday.
The Crimes Against Children Unit was notified on Monday by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that explicit photos of children were uploaded to a chat room for an IP address in Pima County.
Detectives found the IP address linked to a home in the 12000 block of South Shalom Drive.
Davis lives at the residence and detectives found that he was responsible for uploading the pictures.
"The pictures that were uploaded were of children between the ages of 5 to 9 years of age, exposing their genitals," said detective Jessina Janes with PCSD.
Janes said there were a total of five children involved, including one boy and four girls. She could not confirm whether or not the children showed any signs of physical injury.
She said the chatroom where the pictures were uploaded was not geared specifically toward child pornography.
"It can happen on any website, even Facebook will look for those types of images," said Janes."Facebook is very vigilant about taking those off. Every app or social media site has the ability for people to be doing that. It's just a matter of where it's at and where it's found."
Davis was arrested for four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. His computers and phone have been confiscated and are being looked at for other explicit photos.
