Border Patrol Agents arrested a 16-year-old girl for attempting to smuggle fentanyl through an immigration checkpoint Wednesday.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, during the immigration inspection at the Interstate 19 checkpoint, the teen was selected for further questioning. Agents later discovered that she was concealing the nine ounces of fentanyl in her bra.
The teen was arrested for narcotics smuggling and was transported to the Nogales Border Patrol Station for processing.
CBP says fentanyl seizures have more than tripled since 2015.
