The Southeastern Arizona DUI Task Force has has cited employees as five businesses in Cochise County as part of a Covert Underage Buyers Detail operation, according to a news release from the Sierra Vista Department.
SVPD says the task force worked in cooperation with the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety and the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses Control on Saturday August 20.
The task force targeted 32 businesses in the Whetstone, Bisbee, Tombstone, Benson and Sierra Vista areas based off of previous enforcement on complaints from citizens, liquor violations and other factors.
Deputies from the Cochise County Sheriff's Office, four teams of Sierra Vista police officers and underage volunteers who attempted to purchase alcohol all assisted with the operation.
SVPD says the following businesses sold alcohol to the underage volunteers and were charged appropriately:
- Conoco Gas Station 101 Ruppe Ave., Bisbee
- Santiago’s Mexican Restaurant 1 Howell Ave., Bisbee
- Four Deuces Saloon 101 S. 3rd Street, Tombstone
- Shell Gas Station 2222 N. Hwy 90, Whetstone

SVPD says the remaining businesses acted appropriately by checking the underage volunteer's ID which indicated they were under 21 years of age.
