The Sierra Vista Police Department has arrested three suspects from Tucson after an investigation into extortion, kidnapping and armed robbery of two Sierra Vista men which started Saturday night.

SVPD says the investigation began Sunday when detectives learned that a man made arrangements with a Tucson-based adult escort service for multiple female escorts to come to Sierra Vista on Saturday night.

Police say the man and his friend met with the escorts at a local residence and then an argument ensued regarding payment after a small amount of money was exchanged for the services.

A man with a mask was then waiting outside of the residence as he was summoned by the escorts, according to police.

The masked man held the Sierra Vista men at gunpoint and then assaulted one of them. Property was taken from the home and both men were forced to travel to multiple retail locations and ATM's throughout Sierra Vista to obtain services, goods and cash to cover what they had owed for the escort services.

Police say this happened over a period of 10 to 11 hours.

SVPD identified the suspects as 31-year-old Wesley Kirk, 44-year-old Karen Keil, and 29-year-old Kelly Anderson, all Tucson residents.

With the help of Homeland Security Investigations special agents and U.S. Marshals, SVPD detectives conducted electronic and physical surveillance of the suspects in Sierra Vista and Tucson.

Authorities had collected multiple search warrants in the cities to collect evidence.

SVPD says Anderson was contacted in midtown Tucson Wednesday and had an outstanding felony arrest warrant for probation violations. She was arrested and is currently being held in the Pima County Detention Center.

Kirk was arrested on Wednesday in the 2100 block of South Craycroft after authorities conducted surveillance and served a search warrant at a Tucson area motel. Police say he had a gun and heroin in his possession.

Kirk was charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of participating in a criminal syndicate, one count of theft by extortion, one count of transportation of persons for prostitution, one count of receiving earnings of a prostitute, and one count of misconduct with weapons as a prohibited possessor. He is currently being held in the Cochise County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Keil was arrested in Tucson on Tuesday after detectives served a search warrant at a location in the 1800 block of Bell Avenue.

Keil was charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of participating in a criminal syndicate, and one count of theft by extortion. She is being held in the Cochise County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
