A Sierra Vista man has been arrested for attempted first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault following a stabbing at a local bar early Saturday morning.

Sierra Vista Police say on Saturday at 12:16 a.m. officers responded to a report of a disorderly conduct at the International Karaoke and Bar located at 325 W. Fry Blvd.

As officers arrived, they contacted 39-year-old John Christopher Haynes.

SVPD learned that Haynes had instigated an argument with a man at the bar. At that time, Haynes agreed to leave the bar and officers remained on scene until he left.

As officers arrived, they saw Haynes running away from the bar. The officers followed Haynes and noticed that the threw an object into a nearby parking lot.

When officers located Haynes he had an empty knife holder attached to his belt.

Responding officers found that a man had been stabbed multiple times with a sharp object. The victim identified Haynes as the person who stabbed him.

Officers then found a knife in the back parking lot of a local business where Haynes had been seen throwing an object.

Haynes is being held at the Cochise County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
