Suspect identified in midtown domestic violence homicide, victim identified

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson Police have identified the suspect involved in Wednesday's midtown homicide.

According to TPD, the incident happened at a home in the 2600 block of N. Palo Verde Ave around 8:00 p.m.

When officers arrived and knocked on the door, a man identified as 43-year-old Kenneth Nelson answered and was immediately detained.

Officers then entered the home and located a deceased woman with signs of sharp force trauma. She has been identified as 37-year-old Cyndie Nelson, the wife of Kenneth Nelson.

Their infant daughter was also found inside the home. She was not injured.

Nelson was booked into Pima County Jail on First Degree Murder and Domestic Violence charges.
