Super Bowl ads get political

Some Super Bowl ads had political undertones, touching on immigration, ethnic diversity and the gender gap.

The Budweiser commercial told the story of company co-founder Adolphus Busch as he emigrates from Germany to the United States, meeting Eberhard Anheuser. The ad could be seen as a protest against President Donald Trump's immigration restrictions.

Budweiser said the commercial was a coincidence, because it was planned a year ago and shot in October.

Coca-Cola reran its 2014 ad that featured people singing a multilingual version of "America the Beautiful."

Airbnb promoted its view of an open, multicultural world, reflecting its commitment to housing refugees.
