TUCSON, Ariz. — New University of Arizona medical students received their first white coats at the college of medicine Friday.
It's called the Tucson white coat ceremony.
Nearly 120 students were honored at the annual event.
Each of them called one by one to put on their coat, and even have a photo opportunity on stage.
Anthony McCoy University of Arizona Medical student says "Monday we start classes, and so, we're all hoping to do really well in our first year and obviously on our prep for step one. In the future I'd like to teach, personally, I think being a physician and being able to give back by teaching future students."
At the end of the event a big group captured a photo before they embark on their latest academic adventure.
