TUCSON, Ariz. — Stopping bullying and maintaining safe and positive learning environments, that's the goal behind Tucson Unified bullying prevention week.

Tuesday students at Wheeler Elementary wore blue to "stomp out bullying" in support of the effort.

Wheeler Elementary school counselor Ryan Schmidt says "They need to know what bullying is so they can notice it and really respond to it the proper way. They need to understand who they can go to in these situations, understand what it looks like, what it sounds like, what it feels like, so that they're able to respond the appropriate way."

Later this week students will sign a pledge stating they will "make an impact on bullying."

They'll also write positive message on post-its and put them up around campus.
