Tucsonans turned out Thursday to help hungry families this holiday season.

The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona is held its annual "Thanksgiving on the Mayflower" food drive on Thursday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Organizers said they collected more than 6,000 lbs. of food and $60,000 in monetery donations.

Tucson Electric Power committed to match the first $20,000 in donations.

The non-profit says one in 4 children and one in 5 adults are at risk for hunger in Arizona.

Items needed include peanut butter, oatmeal, low-sugar cereal, low-sodium canned vegetables and tomatoes, canned fruit, canned tuna and chicken, whole wheat pasta, rice, beans, nuts and seeds.

You can always drop those items off at the food bank.

You can also donate to the food bank online.

EDITOR'S NOTE: An earlier version of this story stated TEP would match the first $25,000 of donations. In fact, TEP is matching the first $20,000 in donations. The story has been corrected.
