SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. — It doesn't snow often in southern Arizona and when it does, it's met with mixed reaction.
"I can't believe its snowing, its Arizona, like you don't expect this," said Ken Barnes, a Sierra Vista resident.
Barnes has lived in sierra vista for 4 years, and says its probably snowed only once before.
"But, not this much. It's been snowing all day," said Barnes.
With a winter wonderland feel, snow fell atop trees and cars and piled in inches. This rare opportunity to play in the snow -- was taken full advantage of by children. But those from sierra vista were shocked at the amount of snow they saw all day. Two to three inches accumulated, but some places saw more.
"This is too much for me. I'm from California so, this is way too much," said Barnes.
The wet roads were also a little much for those traveling up and down highway 90, with several accidents along the roads once it got dark.
Police warn when it comes to wet and potentially icy roads to slow down. It doesn't matter how fast you're going when it comes to sliding on black ice.
