Six suspects were detained by police Thursday night after a home invasion occurred near Speedway and Swan.
According to Sgt. Pete Dugan with TPD, the six suspects entered an apartment located at 4900 E. 5th St by kicking down a door. There were four people inside the apartment at the time of this incident.
Dugan says the suspects assaulted the residents and then stole marijuana and cash.
A community member called 9-1-1 and officers arrived quickly.
The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle and officers followed, resulting in a short pursuit.
The suspects entered a nearby neighborhood and exited their vehicle. TPD then shut down the area until all six suspects were detained.
Dugan says the vehicle was stolen and that the victim's cash and marijuana were returned.
Detectives have since learned that was a targeted incident, not random.
The suspect's identities have not been released.
