UPDATE (2:23 p.m.):
According to a news release from Sierra Vista Police Department, at about 10:20 a.m., the school resource officer at Joyce Clark received a report that a juvenile male at the school sent a message via Instagram, saying he "needed a school shooting."
The message was reported after the student showed and boasted about it to classmates.
Based on the message, the school was placed on lockdown. It was lifted when it was determined there was no immediate threat, the news release said.
The student was referred for making terroristic threats and disrupting an educational institution, the news release said.

Joyce Clark Middle School in Sierra Vista went on lockdown Tuesday, according to a social media post from Sierra Vista Police.
The lockdown occurred because of an alleged threat made by a student.
Sierra Vista Police responded to the incident and took the student into custody, the post said.
There is no threat to students or public safety.
