UPDATE (3:59 p.m.):
A social media post from Sierra Vista Police sheds more light on the crash that occurred Tuesday morning.
According to the post, the driver of a white Chevrolet pickup truck was turning left from northbound Highway 92 onto Buffalo Soldier Trail at about 10:40 a.m. when the driver ran a red light and crashed into a tow truck traveling southbound.
The pickup driver was airlifted to a Tucson hospital with life-threatening injuries. The tow truck driver did not require transport.
No citations have been issued at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

One person was flown to a Tucson-area hospital via helicopter after a crash between a pickup truck and a tow truck occurred in Sierra Vista, Tuesday.
Traffic is blocked at Highway 92 and Buffalo Soldier Trail while the scene is investigated and cleaned up.
