TUCSON, Ariz. — A long-awaited sidewalk project in the Armory Park Neighborhood is nearly complete after work started early March.
Work is being done to replace damaged sections and reduce tripping hazards.
Armory Park Neighborhood Association Project Manager Ken Taylor says the construction is happening in the north-center of the neighborhood. That's where most people walk.
"The neighborhood saw that we had sidewalks that made it very difficult for walkers and especially the mobility challeneged to get around the neighborhood. So we wanted to repair the places that needed it because the sidewalks were put in in 1938 so you can imagine they've taken some beating," says Taylor.
In a post, Taylor says the contractor expects to finish replacing the sidewalk within two weeks. Then grinding those tripping hazards will follow.
