Rather than crank out annual sequels, "Lego Dimensions" developers continue to build out the original game by freshening it up with new add-on packs.
The latest round of releases includes a bevy of fan favorites that will fire up fans of classic and modern movies, as well as wacky animation. Here's a roundup of some highlights:
Adventure Time Level Pack
Finn is out to prove his worth to Princess Bubblegum by finding the Enchidrion in the Forest of Mount Cragdor and the Dark Magician's Brain World. The pack comes with a 3-in-1 Jakemobile, which you can rework into Snail Dude Jake and Hover Jake. You also get the 3-in-1 Ancient War Elephant, which also morphs into the Cosmic Squid and Psychic Submarine. Multiplayer gets a boost with the Pillow World Battle Arena.
Adventure Time Team Pack
You get two playable characters -- Lumpy Space Princess and Jake the Dog, as well as Lumpy Car -- which can also transform into Lumpy Truck and Lumpy Land Whale -- and BMO as rides. Bonus abilities such as Slurp Access, Grapple Swing and Space Ship are also unlocked, allowing you to mess around with more freedom in the battle arena.
Ghostbusters Story Pack
By far the most expansive of the new releases, the game comes with character Abby Yates, who takes on six levels based on the summer movie. She packs the Proton Blaster, which has the ability to transfer electricity among transformers. The pack also introduces a new Toy Pad mode that unlocks an alternate universe filled with puzzles that affect their counterparts in the real world. Also included is the 3-in-1 Ecto-1, which also manifests as the Ectozer and PerfEcto. There's also a Ghostbuster-themed adventure world with its own battle arena.
