Officers from the Marana Police Department are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision at Tangerine and Dove Mountain.
The victim of the accident has been identified as 33-year-old Jose Javier Barajas-Barron.
Lt. Tim Brunenkant of Marana police says they received a call of a crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger car around 5:30 p.m.

The collision happened on Tangerine between Dove Mountain and I-10.

The adult female driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
Brunenkant said the semi-truck was heading west and the passenger car was heading eastbound when the collision happened.
The initial investigation indicates that Barajas-Barron's car crossed the center line and struck the semi-trailer truck head on.

Authorities are still investigating the events leading up to the accident and are interviewing witnesses at this time.
