TUCSON, Ariz. — Two people died after a serious crash in Oro Valley Wednesday afternoon.
Police said three cars were involved in the Crash near North Shannon Road and West Lambert Lane.
Both people in one car died, the driver of another car was taken to the hospital, and the driver of the third car refused transport. On Thursday, police identified the victims of the crash as 21-year-old Caitlin Festerling and 22-year-old Paul Garcia.
Oro Valley police said it appeared an Acura was rear-ended by a Buick LeSabre and that crash pushed the Acura into the path of an oncoming GMC.
Police say impairment did not appear to be a factor in this crash.
The crash shut down traffic from Lambert to Naranja on Shannon. The Oro Valley Police Department says drivers should use La Cholla to Naranja to avoid the closure.
