Sentinel Peak Road up to A Mountain will be closed to pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicles for the next four weekends.

According to the City of Tucson Department of Transportation, crews will be working to build retaining walls, repair roadway shoulders and clean and improve drainage culverts on the mountain.

There is extensive erosion on the shoulders of the roadway due to severe rains in early August.

Since these rains, the road has been closed to vehicular traffic but has remained open for pedestrians and bicyclists.

For the next four weekends, pedestrian and bicycle traffic will be prohibited from 6 p.m. on Friday through 2:30 p.m. on Sunday starting tomorrow.
