A Sells gang member has been convicted in the shotgun killing last year of a woman on the Tohono O'odham reservation.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for Arizona announced Thursday that a federal jury in Tucson found 26-year-old Warren Miles guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

Prosecutors say Miles, a member of the Tohono O'odham Nation, and other gang members approached the victim and four others in November 2017.

They say Miles' group was riding in a truck when they pulled over. The gang flashed firearms and yelled derogatory comments.

Prosecutors say that's when Miles fired a shotgun at close range. The victim was struck in the face, neck and chest.

He then fled the scene in the truck.

Miles is being held until his sentencing, which is scheduled for Nov. 28.
