SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - A man is accused of causing an elderly driver's death while street-racing in Scottsdale.
Police said Sunday that 22-year-old Ramon Angel Carrasco has been booked on one count of second-degree murder and aggravated assault.
According to investigators, Carrasco and a female passenger, also 22, were heading northbound Saturday afternoon when another driver going southbound tried to make a left turn.
Witnesses say the two cars collided and it appeared Carrasco was speeding and racing another vehicle.
The 68-year-old woman driving the other car was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Carrasco and his passenger suffered minor and serious injuries, respectively.
Police say Carrasco was arrested upon being released from the hospital later in the day.
It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.
